2-5 Fashion Magazines (Teen Vogue, Vogue, Teen People, Elle, Elle Girl, In Style, etc…..)
Markers (Pantone or Prismacolor brands ok)
2 flesh tones, 1 a few shades darker for shading
1 black
3-4 colors of your choice (these may be purchased once the students have chosen the fabric/colors for their collection)
Sewing supplies
Sewing machine (basic Sears Kenmore or basic Singer available at Target)
Fabric scissor
Paper scissor
18″x 2″ clear plastic ruler (C-thru brand)
White thread
Magnetic Pin Cushion
Package of hand sewing needles
3 yards of cotton canvas or heavy weight muslin (white or ivory)
Tape measure

Students will be experimenting with unconventional materials which will be discussed during the first week and then they will be encouraged to acquire materials to work with. Some suggested materials are shredded paper, bottle caps, plastic bags, thrift store clothing, and any materials that can be reinvented or ‘recycled’ to create an amazing collection!
